Scholarships and Donations
While tuition covers most of the costs of providing arts education to our students, we all know that sometimes children need and deserve a little extra love from their community. Whether you're a family looking for help meeting the costs of your child's programs, a sponsor for community programs like the Homer Children's Choir or a community member willing to help other families in the Southern Kenai, this is the place for you.

The Susan Bunting Community Scholarship
In memory of Susan Bunting, the Harbor School offers a needs-based scholarship to children in the Southern Kenai Peninsula who study at the school. If you've ever come to the office to discuss your student and been told that their tuition is discounted or waived, this was done because of Susan and people like her. Susan taught us all how to be a part of a community and what it means to love your own children without limits, as she did her sons Nolan and Landon, and how to share that love with every child you meet. A longtime audiologist, Susan cared for children from all walks of life both professionally and personally. We knew Susan as the woman who would casually take on kids in town who needed a place to call home, help getting to college or just some timely advice. We hope to carry on Susan's legacy of care for children and youth by ensuring no child has to quit studying the arts due to cost.

The Joannie Ingram
Sparkle Award
The Sparkle Award is our small way of trying to capture the essence of an amazing and multi-talented woman. Given annually to a current student who shows a talent for the performing arts and dedication to their craft, the Sparkle Award is given in memory of longtime student of the school, Joannie Ingram.
Joannie loved music, dance, travel and giving to her community. Founder Joel Pietsch had the honor of playing music with Joannie through her exuberant twilight years, creating annual recorded tributes to the composers and songs Joannie loved best and sharing those with her friends. As someone who played multiple instruments, and influenced many of Homer's performing artists today, Joannie lived up to her nickname, Sparkle.

We are proud to continue shining Joannie's light on Homer's young performing arts community.
